While MediCupping    is relatively new to the Massage therapy world, it is rooted in ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.  It uses negative pressure with glass cups applied to different areas of the body to increase circulation, release restrictions and scars, soften fascia and connective tissue, and increase lymphatic flow.  These cups are attached to a machine where the degree of pull on the cups is easily controlled to the clients comfort level, as well as the desired healing intention for the session.

The beauty of MediCupping is that it is a non-invasive way to create decompression and space in the body.  The suction and negative pressure of the cups rapidly release rigid soft tissue up to 4 inches deep in the body by loosening and lifting the fascia and muscles.  Some of the benefits of MediCupping are that it:

  • breaks up and softens scar tissue from surgeries and trauma resulting in pain reduction and increased range of motion

  • facilitates the flow of lymph, which helps remove bacteria & toxic substances from the body

  • encourages a sufficient supply of nutrition to the tissues

  • encourages blood & lymph circulation to the tissues

  • relieves chronic gastroenteritis disorders & colon blockages

  • dissipates cellulite dimpling and solid bloat

  • flushes lactic acid and stagnant blood from acute and chronic contracted muscles

  • flushes lactic acid and stagnant blood from acute and chronic contracted muscles

  • breaks up adhesions from frozen shoulder and rotator cuff tears

  • relieves pain from sciatica, back pain, and neck pain

  • alleviates discomfort from respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema

  • relief from cough & breaks up phlegm buildup in the lungs

  • reduces the chance of getting the common cold or flu
